What is SuperStart?
SuperStart! is a high-energy weekend event for kids in grades 4-6 where they can learn and grow in relationships with their friends, ministry leaders, and most importantly God. The event is produced by Christ In Youth, an organization that has been putting together age-intentional events all over the world for over 50 years! Not only is it one of the safest and most well-organized events for preteens in the country, it is an experience that they will get nowhere else! With your preteens unique needs and maturity in mind, they will encounter Christ through worship, interactive teaching and small groups throughout the weekend. When they leave, preteens who attend SuperStart will not only walk away with a great experience, but also the teachings and foundation to further amplify Christ’s call on their lives.
Preteens face many obstacles when it comes to telling others what God has done for them. Some preteens are fearful to share, while others may feel their story isn't good enough. In fact, most of them feel as if they don't even have a story to share. It's vital to recognize the amazing ways He works in our lives as followers of Christ. And equally as important is sharing the stories of what He has done with others. Psalm's commission to "Let the whole world know what He has done" can feel like standing in front of a gigantic obstacle course of impossibility. But imagine what preteens could do if that feeling of impossibility were removed!
Things to Know
This year's SuperStart theme is about conquering Gargantor - the biggest obstacles that keep us from sharing the stories of God's work in our lives. By helping preteens conquer those obstacles, SuperStart will help them become a force unhindered in sharing the amazing things God does. Through fun interactive teaching, preteens will not only discover their own God stories, but also an understanding of how to let the whole world know what He has done.
Registration for SuperStart is $65 and includes three meals, travel, conference cost, and T-shirt!
WEEKEND PROGRAMS FOR KIDS - BIRTH THROUGH 6TH GRADE
The Early Childhood Ministries of Grace Church exist to provide age-appropriate small groups where even the youngest of children will be introduced to the concept that Jesus loves them. We strive to create an environment where they feel safe, secure, and loved and can begin at the earliest stages of faith to equate these feelings with a loving, caring God and his Church.
Interested in Child Dedication
Dedicating a child acknowledges God's sovereignty not only over the child, but also Mom and Dad. Parents present their child before God and His people asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities. Parents also come praying that their child might one day trust Jesus Christ as Savior for the forgiveness of sin. Click here for more info!
By the time a child is five years old, we want them to know:
God Made Me - “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ”Psalm 139:13-14
God Loves Me - “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever - “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
3 Basic Truths - for our Elementary Grace Kidz
“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52, NIV).
So we want every kid to know and understand these three things:
- I need to make the wise choice (wisdom)
- I can trust God no matter what (faith)
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated (friendship)
We use a special curriculum called "252 Basics" in order to help teach your child these valuable, Biblically-based lessons in a fun and creative way. All 252 Basics lessons focus on at least one of the three basic concept areas from this verse (wisdom, faith, and friendship) in addition to “traditional” concept areas (like God, Jesus, the Bible, the church, family, community, and self).
