GraceLink | December Edition 2018

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short weeks Christmas will be here. I remember as a child thinking Christmas would never come. Now, I am amazed at how fast it comes!

This year at Grace we have many ways you can engage the Christmas spirit. First, each Sunday we will be celebrating the wonderful Gift God has given us. I hope to see you at one of our Gatherings each week. Remember, our “Table” is ready for more to gather. Christmas is one of those times people are open to attend church. Maybe the best Gift you could ever give to that family member, friend, neighbor, or work associate is an invitation to Grace.

We also have opportunities for you to be the church outside these walls. Things like: bell ringing and giving mittens to those in need – keep reading under Grace Kidz for more details. If you or your family would like to adopt a family in need this Christmas simply go to: Active Grace or Churches in Mission.

On Monday Christmas Eve, we will have two identical family-friendly, candlelight Gatherings. Make plans to join us at either 4pm or 6pm. If you would like to volunteer by being a host, greeter or usher, simply contact Crystal Whitehorn.

The last Sunday of the year, December 30th, we will have one service at 11am. We have some great things in store for the whole family. All I can share at this point is…YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS as we look back over the year and celebrate!

Christmas is known as the time for giving. Here at Grace, we are ending the year with an opportunity to be in the black regarding our budget. Typically, the month of December far exceeds all other months when it comes to financial giving. This year, we are under budget receipts by a little over 5%. Would you first of all pray that God would bring that in over the next few weeks? Next, would you consider if God is maybe whispering into your heart to give extra during this month? For some, giving at the end of the year is a tradition. If you would like to make a year-end gift to Grace please keep in mind the following:

To make a tax deductible year-end gift to Grace Church be sure to have it to usbefore January 1st. You may do that by either dropping it in the offering by the 23rd, mailing it to the church office, or make an online gift.

Thank you for your generosity and being a part of Grace Church as we make room for more at our Table this Christmas season.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Marty

WHEN:  Monday, December 24th | 4pm and 6pm
WHERE: Grace Church | 4172 E. Allison Rd.
You’re invited to a Christmas Eve Gathering at Grace Church featuring music, candlelight, message, and family-friendly atmosphere. There will be two identical services at 4pm and 6pm.

The Grace Church office will be closed from December 24th to January 1st. We will reopen on January 2nd at 9am.

In Grace Kidz we love to praise God with music, usually while bouncing around or jumping up and down but always with a joyful heart. Grace Kidz will be participating in both Gatherings on December 23rd. Hopefully it will make you smile as we worship the Lord in the Gatherings with you! K-6th graders will have a variety of activities planned…some on stage, some behind the scenes and a few surprises. We would like ALL Elementary and Preteens to learn the sign language to “What a Beautiful Name”. We have sent home a song sheet with sign language, and we will also post it on our Grace Kidz Facebook page. Preschool will be singing “Go Tell It On the Mountain” (only chorus – twice) and “Oh What a Special Night”. Motions for “Go Tell It On the Mountain” are available here. Motions for “Oh What a Special Night” are available here. Please practice these songs with your child at home also.
