For those of you who are text savvy you know what those three letters mean. Growing up, if I would have uttered that, I would have been in BIG trouble. Saying: “Oh My God” would have been considered disrespectful and borderline swearing.
I once heard a pastor share a story about being in a car with a well-known Christian speaker. It was late in the day, and the sun was setting. They couldn’t see the sunset because they were driving in a valley. They made a left turn and began to head out of the valley. As they crested the hill, they saw the most beautiful sunset to which the speaker shouted out: “OH MY GOD!” At first, the pastor was taken back by the statement but the speaker went on with: “You are so awesome Father, thanks for showing us your creative beauty!”
Sometimes, I see or hear things about how God is working at Grace and I just want to shout: “OH MY GOD! You are so awesome.” The most recent has been the answered prayers in the Breaking Through series: healings, new jobs, financial answers, relationships restored, marriages strengthened, new relationships beginning with Jesus, closer connection with God, those learning how to connect with God, the list goes on and on! If you have had a breakthrough, an answer to prayer, please share it. One way is to write it down on a Breaking Through Celebration sheet on the cafe tables in the auditorium. We will be posting these for a few more weeks. As we continue to celebrate and see what God has done, an appropriate response is: “OMG, you are so awesome, thank you for answering our prayer!”
REFRESH. We are coming to the end of the Refresh work, and I wanted to let you know a few important details. First, thank you to all who have given financially and given time to make refresh a reality. Over the last several months we were able to repaint, re-carpet a few areas, relocate and install a new Info Center, create a new Grace Kidz check-in system and location, establish a Groups area and Mission Central, install electronic displays which help announce upcoming events, refresh the library with a lounge area and electronic check-out system, directional signage, and spruce up the cafe. You may be wondering how we did that and were we on budget. The short answer is: through generous people who gave and yes we were within the budgeted amount. We had donations of money, we had professional trades people giving their time, and donations of electronic equipment. There are a few small additions you will notice over the next few weeks, but for the most part, REFRESH is done.
Easter is coming and along with it there are many opportunities for you and your family at Grace. Easter is a great time to invite people to church. Invitations will be available starting the first week in April with a listing of what’s going on at Grace. Make plans to invite and be at Grace this Easter.
